Periodontics

Your dentist has determined that you may benefit from the care of our group of specialists, specifically a Periodontist. As professionals in Periodontics we offer a wide range of treatments, such as scaling and root planing, root surface debridement and dental implants. Our Periodontists are trained in the placement, maintenance, and repair of dental implants, along with the ability to treat the most problematic cases, such as those with severe gum disease or a complex medical history. After a thorough examination with one of our Periodontists, a treatment plan may be set up during your first appointment, but in some cases a second appointment may be necessary before a treatment plan can be decided.

Scaling and root planing is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and tarter from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacteria toxins. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Implants are commonly used for patients who have lost a tooth or teeth to periodontal disease, an injury or for other reasons.
